Victoria FallsWhite River Waterfall and Ital food experience
Hike up the White River, over rocks, beneath forest cover to a majestic waterfall. Submerge in teal pools, lounge beneath blue sky and fuel up with fresh food from Ras Moses from his Rasta kitchen.
Stemming from the Breakfast River in the heights of Morne Nichols is Victoria Falls – a towering cascade of calcium-rich water, which trickles from the Boiling Lake’s Valley of Desolation. On a clear day, the river is turquoise in some places and murky white in others. For this reason, Victoria is nick-named White River Falls. A daring trek over large boulders and through river torrents will bring travellers to this awe-filled beauty. The large turquoise pool at the base is an excellent space for a dip, while the cool, violent spray pierces the air.
Meet Moses, a Rasta elder, who lives a minimalist, sustainable life on the river bank. Fuel up with ‘Ital’ (fresh, local) food from his One Pot and immerse in stories of Dominica’s past.
Victoria Falls is a perfect place to discover another one of Dominica’s unique and zen-inspiring attractions and is a must-see for nature and adventure seekers.
